Choose by the role or time period. A county worker belongs in the county index; a teacher belongs in the district list; an owner appears after an address or parcel search; and a past resident may require a phone book, reverse directory, yearbook, or newspaper. People directories work best when the place and date are known before the name is searched.
Bothell West Government Directories

The City of Bothell directory is useful only after jurisdiction is checked. Its search form uses category, first name, and last name. A department result can show the address and phone, while a staff row can show name, title, email, phone, and an added phone. It covers incorporated Bothell, not Bothell West government.

That boundary matters because a postal address using “Bothell” may still sit in unincorporated Snohomish County.

Bothell West School Directories
The Northshore School District public directory offers a keyword box and a Search Directory control. The inspected browse contained 3,305 entries across 158 pages. A public entry can show a name, email, assignment or title, and sometimes a link to the person's school site. School pages may add a subject, grade, or principal role. The richer department and position-title search redirects to Microsoft authentication, so it is not an open public route.

A school or role term can narrow common names, but a public entry should not be read as proof that the employee lives in Bothell West.

Bothell West State Directory Searches

Bothell West Owner Directories
Snohomish County's Assessor and SCOPI map work as address-led owner directories. The Property Search accepts a parcel number or a physical address number and street name; it does not advertise an owner-name field. After the parcel is found, SCOPI can show parcel ID, property address, owner, taxpayer, acreage, market value, and tax code area. The mailing address may differ from the physical site.
The Auditor's recorded-document index then works as a name directory for parties to deeds, mortgages, easements, liens, releases, plats, and surveys. Most records from July 1976 onward are online after a free account login. Search names in “Last Name, First Name” form, or use the first ten parcel digits. The Secretary of State search accepts a business name or Unified Business Identifier, then exposes entity status, registered agent, principal office, governors, and filing history. A reverse directory, sometimes called a criss-cross directory, arranges entries by street address rather than surname. It can place an occupant at a known house between census years. Gaps in the holdings mean absence is not proof that a person was gone.
Bothell West Yearbook Directories
KCLS Bothell history resources point to newspapers, former Bothell High yearbooks, Sanborn maps, historic-house files, photos, and a reverse directory. The Bothell High School Alumni Association now holds the library's former historic annuals, although exact years are not published. Those volumes can connect a name with a class, club, team, or portrait.

Sanborn sheets map buildings rather than people, so pair an address from a directory with a map year instead of expecting a resident-name search.
Bothell West Newspaper Name Directory
Three linked newspaper runs create a name trail from 1908 through 1987. The Bothell Sentinel and Bothell Citizen cover 1908-1939 and 1982-1987 in one archive. Another Bothell Citizen run covers 1940-1960 and 1977-1981, while Northshore Citizen fills 1961-1976. The Bothell Historical Museum explains guest access; the archive host now requires sign-in. Newspapers often add context that a row in a directory cannot: marriages, obituaries, school events, club roles, business notices, and relatives. Search spelling variants and initials, then confirm dates against another source. A continuous title path does not mean every issue or name survived.

Bothell West Archive Directories
The Bothell Historical Museum and archival surveys preserve unusual rosters that behave like people directories. The Marguerite Chase papers include pioneer biographies, pupil lists from the 1890s, and lots sold by David Bothell from 1889 to 1896. A Swedish Lutheran Church register covers 1885-1931 and records membership, biographical details, and arrival dates in America. The GAR Bothell Post file covers Civil War veterans from 1902-1926.
Other sources name railroad consignees, court parties, merchants, students, and land buyers. The State Archives Northwest Regional Branch holds Snohomish County vital, land, probate, naturalization, tax, and school records. It accepts remote requests on Monday and Tuesday and appointments Wednesday through Friday. Museum help also matters at Pioneer Cemetery, which has no official online interment roster.
Bothell West Records Survived Fire
A courthouse fire can suggest a broad gap that does not exist here. Everett's 1897 courthouse burned on August 2, 1909, but workers moved county records into fireproof vaults and saved the records and annex. The present courthouse rose on salvageable remains from 1909 to 1911. Researchers should therefore check each series and year instead of assuming that all early Snohomish County directories or files vanished.
Coverage still varies. County birth and death returns run from 1891 to July 1907 in archival collections, newspapers span 1908-1987, phone books have gaps from 1959-1977, and the verified city-directory holdings begin in 1974. Those dates describe known holdings, not the first year every record was created.
